Outdoor Colonial Iron Candle Chandelier

Lighting adds more to a home than many realize. When building a deck or sunroom, or some other addition to a home, it is easy to focus so much on the structure, layout, flooring, paint, and finish material, that the lighting is put off until the end. From assisting customer’s with their new homes and home additions for the last 14 years, it became very apparent of this trend to over look the lighting. Since the focus of this website is to explore outdoor chandeliers, let’s turn our eyes to the outside of the home and focus on outside lighting for a few minutes.

There are two main reasons that come to mind when trying to turn back the trend and look at lighting in the beginning stages instead of once the project is finished. The first reason is: if a light that is going to be hung is extremely heavy, then it should be planned for when the framing is done. Sometimes an additional beam may be included in the framing to hang your outdoor chandelier treasure from. Some of these lights can weight 75 pounds or more, so be sure that they have a proper place from which to be hung.

The second reason to consider lighting in the beginning is so that you are sure if there is one that matches your style. Even purchasing the light before the job is completed is a great idea. Then the electrican can check and be sure he has the outlet in the proper place. And also the builder can be sure that the light will be able to hang in an appropriate place. It is not very satisfiying or convenient if there is no way to hang the light over the table location, or where ever you invision it. Sometimes it may be best to hang the light from the center of the exterior area, and at other times it may be more condusive to place the light on a side of the covered porch where the seating area is.

When thinking about outside spaces, there is also a certain charm in candle chandeliers. This candle chandelier has a lovely colonial style to it. For a western, colonial, or traditional styled home exterior, this chandelier would blend well with its surroundings. If you notice the ‘handcrafted’ in the title, that denotes that this outdoor chandelier is made by hand instead of machine. It also means that no two are identical. Made of solid iron this light weighs 20 pounds. The diamond pattern in the iron with the round iron spheres on the ends adds even more charm to this light. The balls on the bottom of it also act as feet to allow it to be used on a mantel or as a centerpiece. This outdoor chandle chandelier is recommended for covered patio use and indoor. The four taper candles are not included with the light, but can be purchased separately. Light dimensions: 18″x18″x24″

Also consider indoor candle chandeliers for dining areas.

Another time of year that candles are reminiscent of is Christmas. Be sure to talk a look at our article, outdoor Christmas decorations for some ideas for making your home ready for the holidays.
